The prestigious Athena International Award is given to individuals
who meet the following criteria:

life for others in the community.
assist women in realizing their full leadership potential.
Julie definitely deserves this recognition.
Before her current assignment, the Executive Director of the Utah Department of
Heritage and Arts, she was a four-term State Representative representing Fruit
her time as a policymaker, Fisher was selected to the Executive Committee of
the National Conference of State Legislatures, where she served as vice chair
of the Labor and Economic Development Committee for three years. She was
presented with the Utah Museums Association "Public Service" award in
2011; the Utah Medical Association "Distinguished Legislative Service"
award in 2010; the Davis County Chamber of Commerce "Leadership
Award" in 2008; and the Davis County Republican Women "Representative
of the Year" award in 2006. She was also named Honorary Commander at Hill
Air Force Base in 2009.
Julie is a cancer survivor
and treasures spending time with family, skiing, and reading histories and
biographies. A highlight of her personal life was meeting three U.S. presidents
and Kevin Bacon.
