John Pitt, President/CEO - (801) 593-2200

John Pitt brings to the Davis Chamber of Commerce more than 20 years of experience in business management, corporate communications, professional training, video production, government relations, and community service.

John is a Davis County native. He learned an early respect and appreciation for business while helping in all phases of the retail shop his family owned on Main Street in Bountiful. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. An internship opportunity through the Hinckley Institute of Politics became a seven-year position as a video producer and director for the United States Senate in Washington, D.C.

He returned to Utah as an Account Manager, and later a Training Manager, for Convergys Corporation (formerly Matrixx Marketing). Over the next 15 years he was responsible for the company’s training programs throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Ultimately he became Sr. Manager of Global Communications and Culture and managed Convergys training programs throughout the world.

Before joining the Davis Chamber in January 2007 John was Sr. Training Manager for MarketStar Corporation in Ogden, Utah.

John was elected to the Bountiful City Council in 1999 and was re-elected in 2003. He was City Liaison to the Bountiful Downtown Merchants. He devoted himself to promoting and facilitating Bountiful business throughout his time on the Council. He was also advisor to the Bountiful City Youth Council. He was Chair of the city’s Parks, Recreation, and Arts department and a member of board for the Bountiful Historical Commission and the Bountiful Davis Arts Center.

John is married to Wendy (Bird) Pitt. She teaches 6th grade at Oak Hills Elementary. They have three wonderful children (ages 18, 15, and 12).

John firmly believes the Davis Chamber is THE ideal organization to further develop and strengthen Davis County and its vibrant business community.

Michael Johnson brings to Channel 17 expertise in marketing and advertising, as well as a keen understanding of the political landscape in Davis County. Michael was born and raised in Utah and has lived several Davis County cities. As a Student at Viewmont High School Michael served as the Student Member of the Davis County School Board and has been actively engaged in the community ever since. He graduated from the University of Utah where he studied Political Science and Business.

In 2002 he ran for Mayor of Centerville City. He worked with many city, county and state officials before his appointment the Channel 17. Those relationships have allowed him to better carry out his duties for the station. He is passionate about his community and seeks to make Davis Cable 17 an active contributor to the quality of life in the county. He believes community television provides a powerful opportunity for people to better engage in their neighborhoods and cities, as well as the broader community.

In addition to his work at the Chamber of Commerce Michael serves on the Davis Reads Committee and as a member of the Gala Committee for Davis County. He also serves clients as a political advisor and consultant.

Jeanie is the Davis Chamber of Commerce Events Director and Member Development Director.

She graduated from Sherman Kendall’s Academy of Beauty, Arts, and Sciences in Salt Lake City, Utah and is currently working towards her Business Management Degree.

Prior to her current position with the Chamber, she worked for Dr. Phillip C. Hoopes at the Hoopes-Alldredge Vision Institute. Jeanie’s previous professional focus had been in the beauty industry. She spent 17 years in the beauty business in various positions including Hair stylist and Operations Manager. Her most rewarding position was working as an Account Executive for both Aveda Corporation and West Coast Beauty Systems. While working closely with small business owners, Jeanie implemented numerous systems that resulted in higher overall profits, client retention and expansion, and motivation of owners and their employees.

Her real passion is working with people and steering small business owners to gain the knowledge and find the resources available to take the next steps forward in the growth of their business.

Jeanie is happily married to her husband Jeff and they have three children. Two boys; Justice and Shawn, and one girl, Hailey.

Kerry Neal brings to the Davis Chamber of Commerce more than 20 years experience in the administration management and support profession. She is responsible for executing all member administrative services, including accounts receivables, invoicing, membership updates, member to member communication, new member processing, and customer service.

Before joining the Davis Chamber of Commerce, Kerry was Administrative Assistant for Training at Convergys Corporation (formerly Matrix Marketing) throughout the Rocky Mountain Region for 7 years. She later served as Administrative Assistant to the managers of the Global Communications and Culture training programs throughout the United States, India, Canada and the Philippines.

Kerry also worked in the Human Resources department and deployed employee recognition programs and communication for over 1,300 employees.

She brings to the Chamber experience in finance reconciliation, organizational leadership, and various administrative duties and tasks. She is thorough, dependable and results driven.

Kerry is married to Alan Neal, who is a facilities manager at General Growth Properties (Newgate Mall). Together they have 5 children, and 8 grandchildren.

Matthew is the Davis Chamber of Commerce Webmaster Intern, since February 2008.

He graduated from Weber State University with a Business Administration Degree in December 2006. He is currently attending Davis Applied Technology College taking web design and web development classes.
