Shelly Nettesheim, Chair - (801) 614-1671

Shelly Nettesheim is the Marketing and Community Relations Director for Apple Tree (Kaysville), Apple Village (Layton), and Gardens (Ogden) Assisted Living facilities. For the last five years, Shelly has been dedicated to raising the community’s awareness of senior citizen issues. She feels fortunate to serve the needs of the “Greatest Generation” and enjoys the wisdom she gains from them.

For several years, Shelly has been very involved with local and national organizations. She is a current member of American Diabetes Association (ADA), Utah Alzheimer’s Association, Utah Assisted Living Association (UALA), and Davis and Odgen/Weber Chambers. She has served as both a fundraiser chair and corporate recruiter for the ADA and the Alzheimer’s Association. Shelly served as conference chair and board member for UALA. She is past chair for the Davis Chamber Women in Business and currently serves as the Athena Coordinator.

Shelly has her B.S. in Marketing from the University of Utah and an A.S. in Business Management from Salt Lake Community College. Her work experience includes employment in the software, mining, and soft drink industries. Shelly also enjoyed owning and operating a children’s consignment store in rural Colorado.

She is the seventh of eleven children and spent most of her childhood helping her family farm in the West Desert of Utah. All eleven children reside in Utah and remain very close. Shelly, her mom, and her sisters recently returned from their annual “Sister Trip” to South Dakota and visited both the Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments.

Shelly is married with four children and one grandchild. Her oldest daughter attends BYU Law School and her oldest son attends Weber State University. Shelly’s youngest children are still enjoying grade school.

She likes spending time with her family and discovering the Northern Utah area.

Brad WilsonBrad Wilson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Destination Homes. Since its inception in 1991, Brad and his partner have led Destination Homes to become one of the top home builders in Utah. Brad is also an owner of Discovery Development, Destination Holdings and Preferred Realty.

He was the Associate Vice President of American Express Financial Advisors Utah office until 2001 where he managed over 50 advisors and staff members. While at American Express, Brad helped lead the Salt Lake City office to the number one division office in the United States.

Brad has his B.S., in Business Administration from Weber State University and is a Certified Financial Planner.

He is married to Jeni Critchlow Wilson and has three children, two girls, and one boy ages 6, 3, and 1. He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, exercise, boating, and reading. He is an active member of the Young President’s Organization, and serves on the board of directors for the Davis County Chamber of Commerce and Children’s Aid Society. He is a member of the International Association of Financial Planners, National Association of Home Builders, the NAHB Sales and Marketing Council.

Chris WilliamsChris serves as the Community Relations Director of the Davis School
District. He is a former president of the Utah School Public Relations
Association and Idaho School Public Relations Association and has
received numerous awards from the National School Public Relations
Association.

He worked for eight years as a print and radio journalist in Utah,
Nevada, California and Idaho before entering the public relations field.
He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Utah State University
and a master's degree in professional communication from Westminster
College.

He chairs the chamber’s Davis Cable 17 Advisory Committee and is a
member of the chamber’s Events Committee and Legislative Affairs
Committee. He also serves as a member of the North Davis Fire District
Administrative Control Board. He is a native of Buffalo, N.Y. and loves
hockey, basketball, canoeing and photography.

Chantel is a dynamic individual that seeks to actively influence and inspire growth and personal development. She has passion for mentoring and seeing successful women in the business community. Because of her drive she served as Program Director, Vice-Chair, Chair in 2007 and finally, Past Chair and Athena Representative in 2008. Chantel is an active member of the Davis Chamber of Commerce, first year Board of Director Member and is also a Lakesider.

Chantel grew up in Roy Utah, daughter of Mitchell and Susan Sherman. She graduated early from high school and started her career in banking at the age of 18. As a teller she consistently excelled and worked her way through the ranks. She is currently Vice President and Private Banker at Bank of the West where her focus is improving lives through financial solutions.

She thrives on developing meaningful relationships with her clients and serving as their advocate within the bank. She has a desire to contribute to our community by bringing enthusiasm and diversity to our chamber board.

After spending two years at Weber State University, Chantel took a break from school to start her family. She is a devoted wife and mother of two beautiful boys. Currently Chantel is attending University of Phoenix majoring in Business Management. She loves the challenge of creating balance between home, work, school, and community.

Grimely DeGrauw, VP - 525-5351

Grimely Degrauw is the Logistic Specialties, Inc, (LSI) Vice President of Training, Research and Operations. In this role, Mrs. DeGrauw is responsible for leading the Training Strategic Business Unit. She is also responsible of the development and delivery of the suite of courses and training materials covering the full range of LSI Business Development Services.  Additionally, she manages the Research and Administrative functions at the company. In this role, she has complete oversight responsibility to ensure the LSI client base has full support in their business ventures with Federal and State Governments. Her organization’s primary responsibility is to ensure clients have the best available information to aid them in finding procurement opportunities in the Department of Defense (DoD) market.

Grimely was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  In 1995 her family relocated to Florida where she worked in several industries such as hospitality, Telecommunications and Human Resources. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico.  She continued her educational pursuits and in 2005 was successful in completing a Master’s Program receiving her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.  Grimely has more than ten years of accounting experience as well as three years in Risk and Operations Management.

Grimely has always demonstrated a deep love and dedication to helping in her community.  She is actively involved in local activities, is a current member of the Leadership Institute Executive Committee for the Chamber of Commerce and serves as a leader for the Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops in Layton. She also dedicates her time to help organizations like the Family Connection Center and the United Way.  She enjoys participating in church activities and currently teaches at the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes at St. Rose of Lima. Grimely is involved in several committees such as Leadership Institute, Board of Director Chamber of Commerce, Banquet Award Committee and Northern Utah Business and Economic Summit Committee.

In her leisure time she likes to ski, golf, play basketball and volleyball but most of all she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids. Grimely is married to Dr. Jeff DeGrauw and resides with their five children in Layton.

Michael Jensen has served as Chief Executive Officer of Davis Hospital and Medical Center since January 2002. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Brigham Young University in 1989. He continued his education at the University of Iowa and obtained his M.B.A., as well as an M.A. in Hospital and Health Administration in 1992. Prior to becoming CEO of Davis Hospital, Mr. Jensen served as Chief Operating Officer of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Tenet HealthSystem, in Palm Beach, Floida.

At the present time, Mr. Jensen is very active in several community service activities; i.e.: Board of Directors, Vice-Chair, Davis County School District Foundation: May 2004 to present, Board of Directors, Vice-Chair, Davis Applied Technology College, Advisory Board Chairman, Dumke College of Health Professions, Weber State University Board of Directors and Legislative Affairs Committee Member, Davis Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board, Children’s Aid Society Board of Directors, Williamsburg West, San Diego, CA. Gary has been a partner in the firm Adams & Petersen CPA’s in Layton since 2001. He has been in public accounting for 18 years and enjoys the connection that accounting has to every aspect of our lives. The firm is a full service accounting firm for individuals and businesses from start up to very large corporations. The firm has a very comfortable but professional atmosphere designed to allow employees to thrive and clients to receive excellent service.

Gary has experience with large Salt Lake firm and a small Ogden firm prior to joining the firm Adams & Petersen CPA’s. He was educated at Weber State University and continues a relationship with the accounting school and currently has two children that are students at WSU.

He is very involved in the community and believes everyone should “give back” to the community in an appropriate manner and at some point in their lives. Gary is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Davis Chamber of Commerce. While serving in the Chamber he has been involved in everything from Legacy Highway to Hill A.F.B. spending, creating UBIDS a liaison program for government contracting, creating Davis Cable 17, a PEG cable channel owned by the Davis Chamber, and currently serves as the Transportation Committee Chairman. Through his community involvement is a current Honorary Commander with Hill Air Force Base in the Logstar Program.

Gary also serves on the West Point City council and has done for six years. As Councilman has enjoyed shaping the future of a fast growing community and solving issues related to West Point’s growing pains. He is also a member of the North Davis Fire District Board, a special district that provides fire protection and ambulance service to the communities of Clearfield and West Point.

Gary’s hobby is to spend time with his wife Carolyn and four kids, and to occasionally spend a few minutes cycling on the quiet rural roads of West Point. He recently completed the LOTOJA bike race that goes from Logan Utah to Jackson Wyoming 206 miles in one day.

Barbara RiddleBarbara has over 20 years experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. She is currently serving as President/CEO of the Davis Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, a not-for-profit organization contracted with Davis County to market conventions, meetings, and tourism in Davis County.

She previously held positions as Executive Director of the Ogden Eccles Conference Center/Peery’s Egyptian Theatre, Director of Sales and Marketing for GES Exposition Services in SLC, Director of Convention Services for the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Program Coordinator for Utah State University Conference & Institute Division where she gained experience planning meetings and conferences.

Barbara was born in Tremonton, Utah and lived with her family in Wyoming, Montana, Kanab and Moab, Utah. She graduated from High School in Fairfax County, Virginia and then returned to Utah to attend Utah State University. She has lived in Davis County since 1989. Barbara, her husband Scott, and two children reside in Fruit Heights. In her spare time she enjoys golfing, skiing, reading, and horseback riding.

Jim SmithSmith, born and raised in southern California, came to Northern Utah in 1976 for a career move in banking. He has worked in Davis County for nearly a decade and presently resides in Farmington. Professionally, Mr. Smith has been in the banking industry for over 35 years and served as President of two separate banking institutions. Most recently, Smith has been Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Bank of the West.

Jim has been an integral part of many community and civic organizations including the Weber/Davis Chambers of Commerce, board member of the Ogden Rotary Club, board member of the Davis Entrepreneurial Center and past chairman of the Northern Utah Certified Development Company.
