For the last five years, Shelly has been dedicated to raising the community’s awareness of senior citizen issues. She feels fortunate to serve the needs of the “Greatest Generation” and enjoys the wisdom she gains from them.

For several years, Shelly has been very involved with local and national organizations. She is a current member of American Diabetes Association (ADA), Utah Alzheimer’s Association, Utah Assisted Living Association (UALA), and Davis and Odgen/Weber Chambers. She has served as both a fundraiser chair and corporate recruiter for the ADA and the Alzheimer’s Association. Shelly served as conference chair and board member for UALA. She is past chair for the Davis Chamber Women in Business and currently serves as the Athena Coordinator.

Shelly has her B.S. in Marketing from the University of Utah and an A.S. in Business Management from Salt Lake Community College. Her work experience includes employment in the software, mining, and soft drink industries. Shelly also enjoyed owning and operating a children’s consignment store in rural Colorado.

She is the seventh of eleven children and spent most of her childhood helping her family farm in the West Desert of Utah. All eleven children reside in Utah and remain very close. Shelly, her mom, and her sisters recently returned from their annual “Sister Trip” to South Dakota and visited both the Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments.

Shelly is married with four children and one grandchild. Her oldest daughter attends BYU Law School and her oldest son attends Weber State University. Shelly’s youngest children are still enjoying grade school.

She likes spending time with her family and discovering the Northern Utah area.

Shelly's Chamber Testimonial

The businesses I represent have benefitted greatly because of my association with the Davis Chamber. Apple Tree, Apple Village, and Gardens Assisted Living Facilities provide a service to our customers that is very personal and intimate. Developing relationships with other Chamber members ahead of time helps to open the doors of communication and makes it easier to talk about when the need arises for our services.
